More of Samsung‘s devices are gradually receiving the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 software update. The company has started rolling out an update for the Galaxy F12 that gives the budget phone Android 13 and One UI 5.0.
The Galaxy F12 was introduced in April 2022 in India. The phone was launched with Android 11 (One UI 3.1) onboard, and in August Samsung updated it to Android 12 (One UI 4.1).

According to reports by SamMobile, the Galaxy F12 (SM-F127G) has started receiving the Android 13 update in India with firmware version F127GXXU3CVL4.
The update also includes the security patch for November 2022, which fixes 46 security flaws. The One UI 5.0 update for Android 13 comes with a tonne of new features, including a redesigned user interface, new camera options, more lock screen customization options, better animations and enhanced performance.

If your Galaxy F12 hasn’t yet notified you of the latest update, you can manually check for it. Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Settings menu of your Galaxy F12 smartphone
  2. Then, tap on the Software update option.
  3. After that, hit the “Download and install” button.

Android 13-based One UI 5.0: Here’s what it offers
With the new software update, the Galaxy F12 gets a new UI design that includes the expanded Colour Palette feature, which offers more colour options for UI elements.
The new design includes stacked widgets, easier lock screen customisations, and improved blur effects in the notification bar. Samsung has also updated all of the stock applications with One UI 5.0. The camera app has a cleaner look, and the gallery app allows for album customization. The built-in photo and video editors have more options.
Samsung has also improved the quality of animations and transitions. The performance of the phone should slightly improve with the new update. A text extraction feature known as OCR is also part of the updated software, and it can be used to extract text from images that are either stored on the phone or are being streamed live by the camera. Accessibility features, per-app language settings, and more detailed notification controls are available.
