#Euro2020: The world finally has something to cheer about, celebs say
Amid the pandemic, for the next few weeks, the ongoing tournament has given celebrities something to look forward to. Football enthusiasts Vivian Dsena, Karanvir Bohra, Vatsal Sheth and Karanveer Mehra talk about their favourite football players, teams they are rooting for this season, and more.
Vivian Dsena
My favourite teams are Portugal and Germany, as both have some commendable players. Belgium has been performing very well, in the past few years, especially in international matches. I am expecting some really good games from the team, especially from Cruz. I would have been extremely happy if Zlatan Ibrahimović was playing from Sweden. He is such a fabulous footballer and so fit in his 40s. I follow him on Instagram. I am looking forward to France vs Germany, and the next matches of Portugal, Belgium and England too. All these teams have a lot of potential to be in the top five.
Karanveer Mehra
What I love about football, other than playing it is to watching the stars on the pitch. I enjoy an exciting game rather than rooting for a country. England looks strong, Spain, too, will give good competition and Portugal has potential but other than Ronaldo, other players don’t have much to offer! I am an underdog supporter and if India was playing, I would have rooted for India. I haven’t been watching the matches regularly but I do sure check the highlights.
Vatsal Sheth
Belgium is my favourite with the likes of Cutoris Lukaku and Eden Hazard, they are in super form. We saw the team’s performance with a three- nil win against Russia recently. I look forward to watching England, France and Germany play. Group F is the toughest I feel with three big nations – France, Portugal and Germany- locking horns! My favourite players are Ronaldo and the French footballer, Kylian Mbappé.
Karanvir Bohra
My favourite this season would be Mbappe and Harry Kane (England). As this is the first major world tournament held amidst the pandemic, the world finally has something to cheer about in the highly anticipated Euro 2020. France, England and Italy are my top three teams but I can’t decide which one is the best, yet! For sure, I am looking forward to Portugal vs France and Italy vs Wales among other matches. A lot of my friends love football but amid the pandemic, I prefer to stay at home and instead will catch the match with my friends watching together over a zoom call!
