Delta Air Lines’ new Terminal C at New York’s LaGuardia Airport is scheduled to debut June 4, Delta announced Wednesday. The new terminal is part of a $4 billion project that eventually will consolidate Terminals C and D at the airport, similar to Delta’s approach with Terminals 2 and 3 at Los Angeles International Airport.

The completed project will span 1.3 million square feet and include 37 gates across four concourses, according to the carrier, which accelerated construction during the pandemic to complete this stage of the project sooner than initially anticipated. Completion of the four-concourse terminal is expected by the end of 2024.

The new terminal includes 36 full-service check-in counters and 49 self-service kiosks, as well as a “direct-to-security drop-off option” to head directly to one of 11 security checkpoints, according to Delta. There also will be digital ID screening capabilities, and all five entry points will offer baggage drop. In addition, the terminal has a new 10-gate Concourse E, with nine gates operational on opening day. Concourse E is the second of the four concourses to open.

The terminal’s new Delta Sky Club will be the largest in the system, according to the airline, coming in at 34,000 square feet and seating for nearly 600 customers, as well as a gourmet kitchen, premium bar, two food buffets and two hydration stations. Future additions include a year-round all-weather Sky Deck, a second premium bar and a third hydration station.

A 238-foot digital backwall in the check-in lobby will include security-lane wait times, signage in both English and Spanish, Sky Club volume and gate information. Further, Terminal C will feature an art program in partnership with the Queens Museum, as well as a digital art installation.
