Criticare Asia Multispecialty Hospital & Research Centre selected for MRCP (UK) post-graduate training – ET HealthWorld
Mumbai: The British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin Training Academy has chosen CritiCare Asia Multispecialty Hospital & Research Centre as the first hospital in Mumbai to start post-graduate training for Membership of Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) (Medicine) (UK).
After a detailed facility inspection and assessment by a team from the UK, the Criticare Asia Multispecialty Hospital & Research Centre was intrusted with a two plus programme. It is an International Post Graduate Training Programme with two years of placement at participating hospital in India and two years at participating hospital under NHS, UK. The candidate are expected to complete MRCP (Royal College of Physicians) at the end of four years of training .Candidates inducted to the programme shall also participate in the MBA (Healthcare and Leadership) Programme of the University of South Wales.
Commenting on the programme, Dr Deepak Namjoshi, Founder and Director, CritiCare Asia Multispecialty Hospital & Research Centre, said, “We are assertive that this will help to address the need gap and it will bring to being gilt-edge doctors and further invigorate the medical fraternity in Mumbai and in turn, India. During the programme, medical trainees go through extensive practical training and laboratory research and patient management in outpatient and inpatient setting with core medical training.”
On grounds of the proliferating number of applications from doctors in India and the waiting period of almost three years to be admitted to the proficiency exam, members of the British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) training academy have called on hospitals across India to apply to become new centres. These leading-edge course offering training and job opportunities both in India and UK is undertaken in collaboration with BAPIO Training Academy (BTA) which is the training and education arm of BAPIO.
