Coronavirus Case and Fatality Rate in India, Coronavirus Third Wave Updates September 9 Live News: India’s Covid tally is showing an upward trend once again. In the last 24 hours, India registered 43,263 new Covid-19 infections. This is an over a 14 per cent jump in terms of day-on-day comparison. On Wednesday, the country had logged 37,875 cases. There was a minor drop in the Covid deaths. As against yesterday’s 369, Thursday saw 338 corona fatalities. The daily vaccination remains in the green zone with over 86 lakh Covid jabs administered in the last 24 hours, the CoWin dashboard says. The national recovery rate is consistent at 97.48 per cent. It should be noted that of the total 43,263 cases, 30,196 people were tested positive for viral infection in Kerala alone. The state saw 181 deaths.

It’s that time of the year. Mumbai, India’s financial capital, is getting ready to welcome its favourite God – Lord Ganpati. With the Ganeshotsav beginning from tomorrow, the Maximum City will see more movement of people. While the BMC has issued new Covid guidelines for the Ganesh pandals and restricted the numbers of devotees participating in ‘shobha yatras’, the health experts are worried about the consistent increase in the new Covid cases in the city. If we look at the daily caseload, Mumbai crossed the 500-mark on Wednesday with 532 coronavirus infections. This is the first time since July 15 that the city has seen more than 500 cases in a day. There has also been a slight increase in the test positivity rate in Maharashtra.
