Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 is set to release on November 16. The second edition of the battle royale title in the popular Activision shooting game franchise will arrive as a part of COD Modern Warfare 2 season 1. Activision has now updated COD’s official blog to announce that the original Warzone title will remain offline for 12 days. The first edition of the battle royale game will be unavailable as the developers will be busy keeping the sequel stable. The blog also mentioned that the cosmetics from Warzone won’t be carried over to the upcoming sequel
When will the Warzone stop working
The servers of the COD Warzone game will go temporarily offline on the same day as the game’s sequel (Warzone 2.0) will release. Developer Raven Software has offered a tentative date (November 28) for the title’s return.
The reason for suspending the Warzone game
The developers want to make sure that the free-to-play ecosystem of Warzone 2.0 is running smoothly. This temporary suspension will also help the developers with a small break during the upcoming US holiday.

During the outage, Warzone players will be allowed the play the upcoming Warzone 2.0. The game will return as COD: Warzone Caldera on November 28 and is claimed to offer “a separate experience”. Moreover, as a token of appreciation will be Warzone players will also be gifted with “a few items to use in Warzone 2.0.”
Warzone Caldera: What is it
Several winnings and rewards from multiple COD games will be accessible within Warzone Caldera (except Modern Warfare II and Warzone 2.0) along with being in their respective games. Players might be allowed to access a standard Battle Royale Playlist in the new version of Warzone.

However, players will be able to transfer 2XP and 2WXP Tokens between Warzone 2.0 and Warzone Caldera. Since Caldera won’t support an in-game store, players can transfer COD Points between all games.

Apart from this, Caldera will also miss out on two maps — Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep — when the original game returns. Upcoming seasons of Warzone 2.0 are also expected to focus on smaller Battle Royale maps.
