Bhagyashree shares how Salman Khan called her and family for a secret cameo in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which released on Eid last month, has a large ensemble cast and few special appearances. Among them is actor Bhagyashree who acted opposite Salman in Rajshri’s romantic blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya in 1989. The two co-stars reunited on screen after 34 years and Bhagyashree was surprised when Salman also wanted her husband Himalaya Dasani and son Abhimanyu Dasani to make a special appearance along with her in his latest film. After the release of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, fans loved the mini-reunion between Salman’s Bhai and Bhagyashree on the screen. The film even showed a brief scene from Maine Pyar Kiya as Salman and Bhagyashree reconnected on screen. They only worked in one film prior to this. After the success of Maine Pyar Kiya, Bhagyashree had stated she would only work with her husband Himalaya in films. Her children have also followed their mother into acting. Abhimanyu made his debut with Vasan Bala’s Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, while her daughter Avantika Dassani starred in the Zee5 web series Mithya in 2022.

Speaking to Mid-day, the actor spoke about how Salman approached them for them and how she couldn’t say no. She recalled, “It was a surprise for me too when one morning Salman called up and said ‘Bhagyashree I’m doing this film and I want you to play a part in it. There was no question of refusing, he’s been a friend. What surprised me was also said ‘I want Himalayji and Abhimanyu to be in it.’ He asked for their numbers and said he wanted to make calls individually to invite them on his set. It was fun shooting with him, brought back a lot of good memories with fun and laughter on the set. With the kind of reviews I’m hearing from the audience, I’m sure even they enjoyed seeing us together on screen.”

Bhagyashree is making an acting of sorts with NRI Wives starring Hiten Tejwani, Samir Soni, Aditi Govitrikar and Kiku Sharda, and Chatrapathi with Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Sharad Kelkar also coming out this year.
