BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital signs MoU with BAPIO

Bengaluru: BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital, part of IHH Healthcare, entered into collaboration with British Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (BAPIO) and BTA with the aim of developing and providing world-class training and exchange programmes for doctors and nurses in India to meet the growing demands of effective and safe delivery of emergency care across the globe.

BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital hosted a conference on Tuesday at their Kengeri unit in collaboration with BAPIO, to discuss and explore avenues beneficial for both countries from the mutual exchange of ideas and clinical staff. The MoU will further aid in enhancing the education and training of healthcare staff through international mentorship therefore improving the quality of care provided to patients at the hospital. Biju Nair, Cluster COO, Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Bengaluru and Prof Parag Singhal, Executive Director-BTA, National Secretary-BAPIO, signed the MoU in presence of other dignitaries.

Speaking on the partnership, Nair said “With this partnership, we are taking a step forward in delivering our strengthened commitment to promoting a continuous learning platform for our health care workforce. Our doctors and nurses will not only have access to outstanding learning tools from BAPIO Training Academy but also an opportunity to get mentored and trained as per international protocols working alongside some of the most distinguished professionals in UK.”

Speaking on the Indo UK partnership, Prof Parag Singhal, Executive Director- BTA and National Secretary -BAPIO commented, “Providing patients with healthcare services which are effective, safe, patient-centred, timely, efficient, equitable, and delivered by professionals who have been trained in world class NHS hospitals is our end goal. Modules on patient safety are incorporated in the course curriculum enabling trainees to practice the same in real life hence improving patient outcomes.”
