Berger Paints shares up 1.94% as Nifty gains

NEW DELHI: Shares of Berger Paints (India) Ltd. traded 1.94 per cent up in Wednesday’s trade at 10:25AM (IST). Around 14,240 shares changed hands on the counter.

The counter opened at Rs 734.8 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 745.95 and Rs 732.2, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Berger Paints (India) Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 872.0 and a 52-week low of Rs 675.0.

As per BSE, the total market cap of the Berger Paints (India) Ltd. stood at Rs 72237.33 crore at the time of writing this report.

Key Financials

The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 2238.0 crore for the quarter ended 30-Sep-2021, up 23.27 per cent from previous quarter’s Rs 1815.52 crore and up 26.75 per cent from the year-ago quarter’s Rs 1765.73 crore.

The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 218.85 crore, down 0.95 per cent from the corresponding quarter last year.

Shareholding pattern

As of 31-Dec-2021, domestic institutional investors held 1.15 per cent stake in the firm, while foreign institutional investors held 11.3 per cent and the promoters 60.51 per cent.

Valuation ratio

According to BSE data, the stock traded at a P/E multiple of 85.71 and a price-to-book ratio of 21.99. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
