macOS Monterey will enable Universal Control, allowing for a single mouse, trackpad, and keyboard to be used across multiple Mac or iPad devices, but the feature is not coming until later this fall, according to Apple. the other new features which are due to be available from October 25th include AirPlay to Mac, a Safari redesign, a Shortcuts app, spatial audio in FaceTime, and a SharePlay function that lets Apple users watch TV, listen to music, and share their screens with one another. It will be already available on the new MacBooks with the new M1pro and M1 Max chipsets starting from October 26th.
Apple iOS 15.1 is expected to bring SharePlay which lets you remotely watch and listen to streaming content with your friends via FaceTime, ProRes video support as mentioned above, new lossy video codec as well as COVID-19 vaccination document support in the Wallet app, and bug fixes for the known issues in iOS 15. Of course, bug fixes for issues identified in iOS 15 should also be in the new update.
iOS 15.1 RC is now available to developers and public beta testers via OTA with build number 19B74. To get the update on an iPhone or iPad currently running iOS 15.1 beta, go to the General > Software Update menu in the Settings app. You can also download iOS 15.1 RC from Apple’s Developer website our public beta website if you’re not running the beta yet.
