Apple’s new patent aims to bring new gesture navigation interface for better experience and improved battery life – Times of India

Apple has always focused on offering the best possible user experience to its customers across its product lineup. In pursuit of that, the company recently filed a new patent on improving interactivity via gesture navigation. The patent has been granted and we expect to see the implementation in the company’s upcoming products.
Apple’s new patent: What is it
Gizmochina has reported that the new patent application by Apple has been approved by the United States Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO). According to the patent application, the patent number is US 20230195237 A1 and it showcases Apple’s idea behind improving interactive experience through gesture navigation user interface.
As per the patent application, Apple is planning to overcome the limitation of existing user interfaces and navigation gestures by making interactions fast and more streamlined. The patent application also mentions that the new idea of the interface will reduce cognitive load and also optimise battery life across all devices including Mac, iPad, iPhone, Watch, etc.
The patent talks about reducing the number of taps to execute a command on the devices as opposed to the current interface which requires too many taps for executing a command. The reduced taps will end up in less load and will not only get the job done faster but also extend the battery life.
Apple wants to improve battery life with a new efficient gesture navigation interface, how it will happen
As per the patent, Apple will be taking a different approach towards the interface by integrating screen generation components and optical sensors. This will enable a faster and more efficient navigation interface.
Apple plans to replace this new approach in place of the traditional gesture navigation interfaces in its future devices to reduce the cognitive load and make the entire experience better for users.
When this new gesture navigation interface will make its way to a final product is still unknown.
