Apple working on new iPad Pro models with OLED display: Report | Digit

0

Apple this year refreshed the iPad Pro models with the new M2 chip and a mini-LED display on the premium 12.9-inch model. Now, the Cupertino-based giant is reportedly working on more changes for its premium iPad lineup, according to analysts.

Display analyst Ross Young told MacRumors that Apple is working on slightly bigger iPad Pro models with an OLED display. The analyst said that Apple working on an 11.1-inch and a 13-inch iPad Pro with OLED displays. This will be a change from the current 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch sizes that the iPad Pro is currently on.

This year, Apple brought a mini-LED display on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro, while the 11-inch variant still has an LCD panel. Given the recent reports, it seems Apple has no plans to bring the mini-LED display on the 11-inch iPad Pro model and instead, will directly make the switch to an OLED display.

According to reports on other websites, sources have said that Apple is developing OLED panels for larger devices like iPad and MacBook models. The technology will reportedly be ready in 2024, so we can expect to see OLED displays on MacBooks and iPads after 2024.

Apple is also reportedly looking to make larger iPad models. According to a report in The Information back in October, Apple was said to be working on a 16-inch iPad model. Further, in an earlier report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, it was reported that Apple is exploring the idea of larger iPad models.

The Apple iPad Pro models are available in India at a price of Rs 81,900 for the 11-inch variant, and Rs 1,12,900 for the 12.9-inch iPad Pro with a mini-LED display. Both the iPad Pro models come with Apple’s M2 chip and offer a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary wide-angle lens and a 10-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens.
