Apple Watch Series 7 may not feature blood-sugar sensor, body temperature sensor – Times of India

As we are heading towards Apple’s hardware event that should ideally take place in September, rumours about the upcoming Apple products are rife.
Plenty has been said about the alleged iPhone 13 lineup and now it’s the turn of the smartwatch from the company, expected to be called Apple Watch Series 7.
Some rumours in the past have suggested that Apple is working on adding new health features such as blood-sugar sensor or a body temperature sensor in the next Apple Watch. However, according to a latest report by Bloomberg, that has been delayed.
While the body temperature sensor is still likely to come in the 2022 model of the Apple Watch Series, the blood-sugar sensor “is unlikely to be ready for commercial launch for several more years.”
The report also adds that the Apple Watch Series 7 is said to introduce thinner bezels around the display and make use of a new lamination technique, which is said to “bring the display closer to the front cover.”
The report cites people with knowledge of the plans who also reveal that the Apple Watch Series 7 is set to come powered by a faster processor and offer improved wireless connectivity.
The report also adds that Apple may make the Watch Series overall a bit thicker but it won’t be noticeable to the user. Another functionality that the Watch Series 7 may come with is ultra-wideband functionality.
Back in March, Bloomberg had reported that Cupertino-based tech giant is contemplating launching an Apple Watch with a rugged casing. Said to be internally referred to as “Explorer Edition,” this Watch Series is expected to be launched later in 2021 or 2022 at the earliest.
With this particular Apple Watch, the company will be aiming at athletes, hikers and more people who may want to put their smartwatch through extreme conditions.
