Apple might be working on a cheaper display: What we know so far – Times of India

0

Ever since the 27-inch Thunderbolt display was discontinued in 2016, Apple has not manufactured an ‘affordable’ display. This, however, might change. At present, Apple sells $5,000 Pro Display XDR but there are rumours that new standalone displays are in the forging.
As per tech website MacRumors, the new display won’t be as expensive as the Pro Display XDR and it is expected to feature reduced brightness and contrast ratio when compared to the new display.
The MacRumors report mentioned that Apple might release the display in two sizes, perhaps 24 inches and 27 inches. It is rumoured that LG could be working on three display sizes — 24, 27 and 32 inches — which could be for Apple.
Out of the two, the 24 and 27-inch models are expected to be low-cost ones while the 32-inch model could be a Pro Display XDR follow-up.
However, there’s no leak or information about the display’s design or specs but it could be in the works.
Rumour has it that Apple will host its first event of 2022 in March. The Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to unveil the iPhone SE along with the all-new iPad Air. While the iPhone SE may be the biggest talking point, it’s at this event only that Apple could unveil the 13-inch MacBook Pro with an M2 processor.
