MacBook Air M2 deal

Performance, design and battery life come together in the MacBook Air M2 (2022), and now you can save $200 on this MacBook when you buy it from Best Buy. Our computing editor though the MacBook Air M2 was his favorite laptop of the past year, and not much has changed since then to lower our estimation of the device — though Best Buy’s deal does cut the price to $899.

galaxy z flip 5 prime day deal

It can be hard to find Prime Day discounts on newer phones — usually, it’s the older models that see the steepest drops. But right now, you can pick up the Galaxy Z Flip 5 that came out this summer for $899 at Amazon. That’s $100 off the regular price. Of all the Galaxy Z Flip models, this is the one to get, as it replaces the thin exterior display with a more ample 3.4-inch space that lets you do more without opening the phone. We like the fact that phone closes fully shut now with no noticeable gap.

iRobot Roomba S(+ deal

Bundles are great when you can pick up two great products for one discounted price, and that’s what’s happening with this Amazon offering that pairs a top robot vacuum with our recommended robot mop. You can currently get the iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum and Braava Jet M6 mop for a combined $899 — a $350 discount from the usual price that brings this bundle to its lowest cost ever. The Roomba S9+ normally costs a large amount, but it’s also a top-performing vacuum that looks great. And the Braava Jet M6 is simply best robot mop we’ve tested.

Sony PS5 restock

Here’s a sweet deal for anyone looking to buy their first (or second) PS5 console. Dell has the console bundled with a free $100 Dell eGift card on sale for $499. You’re paying full price for the console, but you’re getting a free $100 GC that you can use to buy anything at Dell — including PS5 games and accessories. It’s actually a pretty aggressive deal because the biggest dollar-off discount the PS5 has seen has been $50. I don’t expect this deal to last long.

The LG A2 OLED Tv with a deal tag

I’m not happy with the OLED TV deals I’m seeing right now. Amazon has OLED TVs on sale from $1,096 (the cheapest OLED is the LG 55-inch B2 for $1,096). Best Buy has usually been my go-to for OLED TVs, but their lowest price right now is $649 for the LG 48-inch A2. Both TVs are good entry-level units (and the Best Buy deal is pretty solid), but I was hoping to see lower prices this week. The good news is that prices could drop tomorrow, since that’s when Prime Big Deal Days technically starts. But in the meantime, if you’re looking to buy your first OLED, I would wait awhile till prices dip further.

Our fitness editor Jane McGuire is a fan of these Skecher shoes. In her Skechers slip-on shoes review, she said they’re great if you’re looking for a super-cushioned, super-comfortable pair of slip-on sneakers. Certain sizes and styles are on sale from $53. Note that a lot of them qualify for Amazon’s Try Before You Buy program, which lets you try on multiple sizes of shoes before you commit to buying any. You’ll only be charged for what you keep. If you don’t like the shoes or the fit isn’t right, you can return them and your card will never see a charge. It’s one of my favorite ways to shop apparel at Amazon.

Echo Dot (5th) Gen with a Tom's Guide deal tag

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — Prime Day is an excellent opportunity to buy/upgrade your Amazon devices. Echo Dots, Fire TV Sticks, Ring Cams, Fire TVs, etc. all see massive price cuts on Prime Day. In fact, right now Amazon is taking up to 70% off its devices with prices starting as low as $12. I personally like this bundle that includes an Echo Dot (5th Gen) with Kasa Smart Plug Mini for just $23.  I use this throughout my apartment so I can control things like lights with just the sound of my voice.

The first Prime Day deal I “purchased” comes courtesy of GrubHub. It’s no secret that Prime members get free GrubHub Plus for one year. (That’s $119/year in savings). But Prime members can also get $5 off any GrubHub order of $25 or more via coupon code “PRIME5”. Just note that this deal is valid through October 9 only (which means you’ve only got a few hours left to use it).

Amazon Omni Fire TV with Prime Day deal tag

One of my favorite October Prime Day deals is similar to a deal that Amazon offered back in July. During its summer event, Amazon offered its 43-inch Omni 4K Fire TV for just $99. It still remains the cheapest 4K TV deal I’ve ever seen. Now Amazon is offering a slightly better set of TV deals. Via invite only, you can get the Amazon 50-inch Omni 4K Fire TV for just $149. That’s the cheapest 50-inch 4K TV I can ever recall seeing. Note that is an invite only deal, which means you’ll need to sign into your Prime account and request to buy it. If you’re lucky, Amazon will e-mail you a link to buy the TV on October 10. You can also request to buy the Hisense 50-inch 4K Fire TV for $199. It costs $50 more, but the Hisense U6HF is similar to the Hisense U6H, which we named one the best budget TVs. The main difference between the two models is that the U6H runs on the Google TV operating system, whereas the U6HF runs on Amazon’s Fire TV operating system.
