Airtel 5G Plus service now available in 3,000 Indian cities – Times of India

Airtel has announced its 5G service is now available in 3000 cities and towns in the country. From Katra in Jammu to Kannur in Kerala, Patna in Bihar to Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu, Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh to the Union territory of Daman and Diu, all the key urban and rural parts of the country have unlimited access to Airtel 5G Plus service.
Commenting on the milestone, Randeep Sekhon, CTO, Bharti Airtel, said, “We’re excited to cover large parts of the country with the power of 5G. Bridging every town and key rural areas in India by September 2023 remains our commitment as we continue to add 30-40 cities/ towns every single day. We are witnessing a rapid adoption of 5G amongst customers both in urban and rural India. Airtel 5G Plus will act as the propeller that will power ahead the next generation of digital connectivity, creating new business models and revolutionises industries such as education, healthcare, manufacturing et all along the way”.
Airtel Unlimited offers
Airtel has recently introduced an Unlimited Data Offer to cater to its customers’ needs. This offer is applicable to all postpaid users and prepaid subscribers who have subscribed to a data plan of Rs 239 or above. To avail of this offer, Airtel customers are required to possess a 5G-enabled smartphone and be located within a 5G network coverage area. The offer can be redeemed by accessing the Airtel Thanks app.
What Airtel users need to do to access its 5G service

  • To access Airtel’s 5G service, users must be located in a 5G-enabled city or area.
  • To check for notifications and alerts about 5G availability, users can refer to their Airtel Thanks app.
  • Those who wish to use the Airtel 5G Plus smartphones must switch their preferred network type to 5G.
  • There is no need for users to obtain a new SIM card to access the Airtel 5G Plus service, as it can be accessed using their existing SIM card.
  • Additionally, users can continue to use their current data plans to access the Airtel 5G Plus service and do not need to purchase a new plan.
