The BSE500 index gained 162.80 points or 0.67 per cent for the four-session week to 24,299.20. The market was shut on Monday on account of Independence Day.
Hikal surged 19.70 per cent for the week to Rs 323.15.
Adani Power, which is on a winning run since August 10, gained 19.44 per cent to Rs 412.20 for the week. The company on Friday announced buying of thermal power assets of DB Power from Dainik Bhaskar Group for around Rs Rs 7,017 crore enterprise valuation.
Indiabulls Real Estate climbed 18.69 per cent to Rs 80.30 as the company in its investor presentation said it has cut its net debt by 54 per cent to Rs 464 crore during the three months ended June from Rs 1,005 crore in the March quarter.

and Apollo Tyres were some other BSE500 stocks gaining over 10 per cent each for the week.
