YouTube has introduced a dedicated Podcasts tab to the channel pages. The addition of the new tab will make it easier for the users to access podcast content.
The new Podcast tab is placed between the Live and Playlist tabs on the channel pages. The company believes that this will enable the users to easily find podcast playlists created by content curators. Earlier users had to search by name, show card or navigate manually the Playlists tab for the podcast content. The feature is available for users globally.
On the other hand, an online report by 9to5Google suggests that Google is also working on a similar feature for YouTube Music. Presently, in the testing phase Google is working on introducing a dedicated Podcasts tab in YouTube Music. After the roll out of the feature the YouTube Music users will display appropriate podcasts in the app. The feature is presently in the testing phase and is available only for a small group of people.
YouTube issued a warning for its users
Recently, YouTube issued a warning for users about an email scam. The video streaming platform warned users about the ongoing email phishing scam. The company took to Twitter to warn the users. YouTube tweeted, “reads: we’re seeing reports of a phishing attempt showing no-reply@youtube.com as the sender be cautious & don’t download/access any file if you get this email…” The email in question has a video link which reads “Changes in YouTube rules and policies| Check the description”. In case you get the email, chances are that it is a scam.
For those unaware, phishing is a fraudulent technique that involves sending deceptive or dubious emails that mimic those from legitimate companies or trusted sources. The objective of phishing is to obtain confidential data such as login credentials, which are often used to access websites and personal information, as stated by Google.
