Yash Dhull to lead India A in Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Junior Cricket Committee has announced the India A squad for the upcoming Asian Cricket Council Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023, scheduled to be held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from July 13 to July 23.
The tournament will feature eight Asian nations competing in a 50-over format.
Leading the India A side will be rising star Yash Dhull, who captained the Under-19 Indian team to victory in the 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Dhull, who also made his first-class debut for the Delhi team in the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy season, will be a key player for the team.
Another notable inclusion in the squad is Rajvardhan Hangargekar, a promising all-rounder who was part of the Chennai Super Kings’ winning side in the IPL 2023. Left-arm pacer Akash Singh, also from the IPL-winning Chennai Super Kings team, is also part of the India A squad.
The squad consists of two wicket-keepers, namely Prabhsimran Singh and Dhruv Jurel, providing depth and options in that department.

India A has been placed in Group B, alongside Nepal, UAE A, and Pakistan A. Group A comprises Sri Lanka A, Bangladesh A, Afghanistan A, and Oman A. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals.
The first semi-final will feature the Group A table-toppers against the second-placed team from Group B, while the second semi-final will see the Group B leaders take on the second-placed team from Group A.
The semi-finals will be held on July 21, with the final scheduled for July 23.
