Yash Dhull: ACC Emerging Cup: Yash Dhull, Harshit Rana star in India A’s thumping 8-wicket win over UAE A | Cricket News – Times of India
Opting to field after winning the toss, India’s pacer Harshit Rana (4/41) showcased his skills, well-supported by Nitish Kumar Reddy (2/32) and Manav Suthar (2/28), limiting UAE ‘A’ to a modest total of 175/9.
Chasing a relatively easy target, India ‘A’ faced an early hiccup with the loss of both openers – Sai Sudharsan (8) and Abhishek Sharma (19) inside the sixth over with the scoreboard reading 41.
However, Dhull’s magnificent unbeaten century (108*) and Nikin Jose‘s solid contribution (41*) sealed the victory with ease.
The duo formed an unbroken partnership of 138 runs for the third wicket, propelling their team to the target in just 26.3 overs.
During UAE ‘A’s innings, Ashwanth Valthapa (46), Aryansh Sharma (38), and Mohammed Faraazuddin (35) showed some resistance but struggled to score freely against the skillful Indian bowlers.
With this convincing win in Group B, India ‘A’ demonstrated their dominance in the tournament and will look to carry the momentum forward in their upcoming matches.
Dhull’s attacking knock was full of flair and timing as he scored his runs off just 84 balls, finding the boundary fence as many as 20 times and clearing it once.
Jose, on the other hand, played the second fiddle and decorated his 53-ball innings with just five boundaries.
Pace combination of Ali Naseer (1/14) and Muhammad Jawadullah (1/47) were the wicket takers for UAE ‘A’.
India ‘A’ will next play Nepal on July 17 before taking on arch-rivals Pakistan ‘A’ on July 19 in the final group game.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals to be played on July 21. The final is scheduled to be held on July 23.
