Xiaomi 14 to get larger primary camera & Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

0

We have entered well into the third quarter of this year and Xiaomi is gearing up for its next big launch. Dubbed the Xiaomi 14 (of course, Xiaomi 13’s successor) and the phone just made its appearance a few times. Cut to now, leakster Digital Chat Station posted some key information regarding the design, chipset, and camera. Here’s more about it.

According to the schematics, Xiaomi 14 will have a similar design to Xiaomi 13. The bezels are likely negligible with a flat display onboard and a centrally-placed punch-hole cut-out.

Moving on, Instead of going for a triple-camera setup, we could see a quad-camera setup. The camera setup likely includes a 50MP 1/1.28” primary snapper which is larger than Xiaomi 13’s 1/1.49” sensor. It will bring along a medium-telephoto camera probably with a standard lens and 3.2x optical zoom compared to the predecessor. The third snapper is likely an ultrawide sensor although there’s no information on the fourth sensor at the time of writing this.

Looks like the next-gen Xiaomi 14 will pick up a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The chipset is due to launch in October at the Snapdragon Summit and Xiaomi could very well be the first one to get its hands on the device unless OnePlus swoops this opportunity to launch the OnePlus 12 probably around December in China.

Anyways, Xiaomi 14 is rumored to arrive with a beefy 4,860mAh battery topped with a 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. This gives it a boost over Xiaomi 13’s 4,500mAh battery with 67W and 50W of wired and wireless tech respectively. The vanilla variant could get up to 512GB/1TB storage onboard. As of now, Xiaomi 13 vanilla maxes out at 512GB.

Just like Xiaomi 13 and previous versions, Xiaomi will launch the flagship series with multiple models including Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro, and 14 Ultra or others. Note that these models may arrive months apart following the tech giant’s previous launch schedules.
