xbox: Xbox-Bethesda Games Showcase: All the major announcements – Times of India

Microsoft recently hosted its Xbox-Bethesda Games Showcase which was a 90-minute long online event filled with news, trailers, and announcements from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and other third-party studios. Amongst these third-party studios, Activision Blizzard was also present at the event which Microsoft is set to acquire in a $68.7 billion deal. The entire event focused on games that will be playable within 2023. Here we have listed all the major announcements that came out of this Microsoft gaming event.
Redfall
Redfall was the first game to be announced by Microsoft at the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase event. This game is a co-op, open-world horror game that is set in Massachusetts and is developed by Arkane Studios. The showcase included an inside look at Redfall’s vampire-shooting gameplay and four playable characters. The game is expected to launch in 2023.
Riot Games on Xbox Game Pass
Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass will soon include all the major titles from popular developers Riot Games. Riot Games’ titles offered by Xbox Game Pass will offer free stuff worth hundreds of dollars for subscribers which includes — all League of Legends champions, all Valorant agents and more.
Forza Motorsport
Microsoft announced the release date of Turn 10’s Forza Motorsport during the event. . Forza’s previous two entries were Horizon games, which makes this the first ‘Motorsport’ title since 2017. Forza Motorsports will be released on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Game Pass in spring 2023.
Microsoft Flight Simulator
The franchise will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with some new aeroplanes and other goodies. The UNSC Pelican from the Halo franchise will also be added to the game which will also be the first officially licensed fictional aircraft to be added to the realistic simulation game.
Microsoft Flight Simulator precisely recreates the entire planet Earth by streaming satellite and photographic information directly from Bing Maps to users around the world. The game is expected to be available as part of the Xbox Game Pass program on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC from November 2022.
Overwatch 2
Blizzard Entertainment has announced that Overwatch 2 will be released in October. The upcoming game will include two new playable heroes — Sojourn and Junker Queen. The game is confirmed to be free-to-play during its launch and early access for the same will begin on October 4. The sequel to Overwatch will also include at least two new maps (Toronto and New York), a new game mode called Push and multiple hero reworks. The game will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Elder Scrolls Online: High Isles
This game is set to release on Xbox and PC on June 21 and currently, it is available for pre-purchase. The Elder Scrolls Online: High Isles Legacy of the Bretons will offer a new mount, pet, outfit styles and other upgrades with the collector’s edition.
Fallout 76
Bethesda announced the arrival of the game even before the Showcase event, however, the developers dropped a trailer at the recently concluded event. Fallout 76 will be moving from the Wasteland and heading into the Pitt from September 2022.
Forza Horizon 5
Forza Horizon 5 will include Hot Wheels DLC and players can pre-order this game now to enjoy the premium add-ons bundle. The game will be released on July 19 for Xbox consoles and PC.
Minecraft Legends
Minecraft will be getting a strategy spinoff called Minecraft Legends in 2023. In 2014, Microsoft acquired the franchise and developer Mojang and has since published other Minecraft spinoffs. Minecraft Dungeons which launched in 2020 has been the most successful spinoff so far. Players will have to build and unite worlds through strategy gameplay in this upcoming game.
Diablo 4
Diablo 4 is expected to be out by 2023, however, the game hasn’t received an official release date yet. The upcoming game will reveal a new character class — necromancer. Diablo 4 will feature cross-play and cross-progression on its release. This action RPG from Blizzard will be available on current-gen consoles — PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
