WhatsApp new media shortcut on Windows beta app: How will it work
As per the report, after downloading the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2306.2.0 update from the Microsoft Store, some beta testers were able to notice a new shortcut within the share menu in chats and groups. The report has also shared screenshots to show how the shortcut option will work for users.
The report reveals that the shortcut will allow WhatsApp beta for Windows users to share photos and videos directly from the app. Earlier, the beta app allowed users to drag and drop or access the option called “File” to share media. But, this option allowed users to share photos and videos as documents and not as media.

The latest shortcut option will make it easier for Windows users to share photos and videos as media files. Moreover, this shortcut will also help users to search for the media from the file explorer. However, users need to keep in mind that the media shared using this shortcut will be compressed. Just like other platforms, WhatsApp compresses the media files so that users can share them quickly and they take up less space.
