Why Windows users can skip the April 2022 update from Microsoft – Times of India

0

Microsoft rolled out April 2022 updates for Windows 10 and Windows 11 users recently. The update brings several new features and improvements. However, the patch is reportedly breaking some popular web browsers. As per a report by WindowsLatest, a potential compatibility issue between antivirus solutions and Windows updates is causing web browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox and others to crash. The report reveals that users are seeing an error message that reads, “The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application”.
The report reveals that a few users have complained about the issue on Microsoft’s own feedback hub. The complaints on the hub have also revealed that browsers including Vivaldi and Brave are working fine.
As of now, the tech giant has not addressed the issue. A few reports suggest that the issue is due to the operating systems compatibility issue with antivirus apps like ESET. In order to address the issue, the security firm has deployed the potential fix that users can install manually. It is not yet known if the issue is being faced with other antivirus software as well.
If you are also getting the error message while running the popular web browsers mentioned above, you can also uninstall the cumulative update.
For those who don’t know, Microsoft has added the search highlights feature to Windows 10 with the update. The feature shows the trending topics on Bing, facts related to the day and content related to the user’s interest in the Windows Search homepage. The company is also adding a new way to change the colour of buttons that appear within notifications toast. The feature makes notifications more compact. Users can now also expand an app’s top three notifications by default in the Action Center.
