NEW DELHI: Jammu’s Vivrant Sharma hogged the limelight at the IPL 2023 auction in Kochi on Friday as the 23-year-old raked in a whopping Rs 2.6 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad snapped up the talented batting all-rounder after a fierce battle with Kolkata Knight Riders.
Starting off with Rs 20 lakh, the bidding war for Vivrant eventually went SRH’s way as the franchise paid 13 times his base price.

The left-handed opener might not have too many matches to his name but the rookie impressed quite a few cricketing pundits with his explosive batting in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy. Vivrant was J&K’s second highest run-scorer in the tournament, amassing 395 runs at an impressive average of 56.42.
