When Shah Rukh Khan revealed how daughter Suhana Khan used to make fun of him: ‘Apki walk se maloom padd jata hai ki…’

In an old interview, Shah Rukh Khan had opened up about his equation with daughter Suhana Khan, and revealed why she mocked him. The actor had said that every time he took her out in public and attempted to go incognito in a hoodie, people would recognise him and he had to run. Shah Rukh said Suhana would make fun of him and tell him that his walking style was easy to recognise and fans would know it was him instantly. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan married in 1991. They welcomed son Aryan Khan in 1997, and daughter Suhana Khan in 2000. In 2013, their third child AbRam Khan was born via surrogacy. In an old interview, Shah Rukh had spoken about his stardom, and how it impacted his and his family’s life.

In an interview to India Today in 2015, Shah Rukh Khan had said, “Meri beti mazak udati hai mera. Main wo pehen leta hoon, mujhe Twitter walo ne ek hoodie diya hua hai bada sa. Woh pehen ke main bahar jata hoon aur meri beti hasti rehti hai. Main use kehta hoon ‘kyun’. Main uske saath aise saat baar ja chuka hoon aur har baar ye bolta hoon ‘beta maine yeh pehna huya hai, kuch nahi hoga’. She says ‘papa apki walk se maloom padd jata hai. And genuinely, har saat baar jaise hee maine gadi kholi logo ne bola ‘woh dekh Shah Rukh Khan aa gaya’ aur mujhe wahan se bhagna pada (My daughter makes fun of me for wearing a hoodie gifted to me by Twitter, when we go out. I always assure her no one will know it is me, but every time we went out like this, people recognised me the moment I got off the car, and I had to run).”

He further said, “Toh bohut personal life jo hai usme zaroor aisa hai ki bacho ke sath jana mumkin nahi hota hai, lekin having said that jo mujhe mila hai iss stardom se, aur main ye bahut openly saalon se kehta aa raha hoon, mujhe agar kaha jaye ki phir se ye sab chin jayega aur ye milega, to main kahunga main yehi zindagi jiyunga (So yes, my personal life does get affected by the stardom, especially going out in public places with my children is not easy. But as I have also said in the past, I will always choose this life and everything it has given me).”

Suhana will soon be making her acting debut with the Netflix film The Archies alongside Agastya Nanda and Khushi Kapoor. Meanwhile, her brother Aryan Khan, who aspires to become a filmmaker, announced his debut as a writer under Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment last year via an Instagram post.
