When Roadies judge Rajiv Lakshman got pranked by fake Sanjay Dutt, lost his cool after being recorded. Watch

Prankster Rohit Gupta managed to convince former Roadies judge Rajiv Lakshman, the brother of Raghu Ram, that Sanjay Dutt was calling him with an offer to collaborate on a show. Video footage of the prank call was shared online in 2019.

Sanjay Dutt, one of Hindi cinema’s most enduring stars, turns 62 on Thursday. In the video, Rohit, mimicking Sanjay, called Rajiv with an offer. During the course of the call, he got a visibly excited Rajiv to perform ‘pranayama’ and discuss a viagra idea with him before he revealed the truth, following which Rajiv abruptly cut the call and later demanded that the video not be shared online.

Rohit said that Rajiv’s wife was in on the prank, and was in fact the one who filmed his side of the conversation. After learning that he’d been played, Rajiv cut the call. Later, Rohit called him back, and got told off.

“This is no way,” Rajiv said in Hindi. “It’s okay, you got my wife involved, but are you recording this? You can’t upload this, you haven’t got my permission. You’re making me do ‘anulom vilom’? You’re making fun of my baldness? And you think you can upload this? I am not comfortable, you understand that?” When Rohit said that it was just harmless fun and that he should ask why his wife gave him permission, Rajiv said, “My wife can play pranks on me. My brother can play pranks on me. But I don’t know you, you understand… Don’t tell me what to ask my wife. You come to my office.”

In a follow-up video, Rohit and Rajiv sat together, having seemingly buried the hatchet, and discussed the incident. Rajiv said that he’d never really been pranked, and admitted that he should’ve realised it sooner. “I was not angry, I’ll tell you what happened,” he said, and told Rohit that after doing a bit of digging, he realised that he’d seen his prank videos before. “When I found out that I was pranked by you, I was like ‘ok, theek hai’.” Rohit said that he didn’t get scared, because he Rajiv’s wife was in on it, although she did warn him not to call him immediately after the prank, because he was ‘angry’.
