WhatsApp has reportedly started rolling out a feature which will enable Windows desktop users to make video and audio calls with up to 32 people. Earlier the desktop app of WhatsApp supported group video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people. However, now the Meta-owned platform has increased the group video call limit.
As reported by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has started rolling out the ability to video call up to 32 people. The feature is presently available only for the beta testers and users need to install the beta update 2.23.24.1.0 to access the feature. According to the screenshot shared by WABetainfo, certain beta testers may receive a message inviting them to try group calling. The message highlights the feature of making video calls to contacts and groups directly from the Windows app, with support for up to 32 people.
The report further adds that some users may receive an alternate message that highlights the support for video calling with up to 16 people. This feature also includes the ability to share screen content during video calls, which was previously announced with the WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2322.1.0 update. Furthermore, after installing the latest update of the app, some beta testers may finally gain access to video messages.
What is ‘message pin duration’ feature
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also working on a new feature called ‘message pin duration’.
The upcoming feature on WhatsApp will empower users during their conversations by providing them the option to set the duration for which their pinned messages remain active. This feature grants users the flexibility to choose a specific time frame, after which the pinned message will automatically be unpinned. Users will be able to pin a chat for 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days, according to their preference. It is worth noting that users will retain the freedom to unpin the currently pinned message at any time, even before the chosen duration elapses. This enhanced functionality grants users increased flexibility and control over their pinned messages.
