WhatsApp tests new camera mode for Android devices – Times of India

0
WhatsApp has recently released a new camera shortcut for beta users on both Android and iOS, as it was replaced by the community tabs in the previous beta version. The Meta-owned direct messaging platform is now testing a new camera mode (with version 2.22.21.8) just for Android users, reports WABetaInfo. This new camera mode is expected to allow users to experiment with different modes like photo and video.
How will this new camera mode work
As per the report, WhatsApp is developing two more buttons for the camera mode on the messaging app. Currently, users have to click the shutter button to take a picture and press and hold the same button for videos. The way WhatsApp users click photos and videos right now will change completely if this feature gets out of beta.
WhatsApp is testing two different buttons for photo and video modes that will allow users to swap between these modes. This feature is still under development and won’t be released to all users for some time.
The new WhatsApp beta update also fixes a bug
This new beta update also patches a bug that was making it difficult for some users to scroll through chats. Previous versions of WhatsApp were showing some users’ very old messages when they scrolled through a chat.
Other new features coming to WhatsApp
Apart from this, WhatsApp has also added some other features to the beta version of the app. The company recently added the multi-device support feature for Android tablets with the previous beta update. WhatsApp has also announced the Call Links feature (like Zoom and Google Meet) that will allow users to start or join a call easily.
