WhatsApp starts testing this new status on iOS – Times of India
WhatsApp has been working on several new features for the Status section of the instant messaging platform including new link previews, status reactions and more. The company is already testing the ability to share voice notes as WhatsApp Status for Android. Now, WABetaInfo has reported that the company has made the feature available on iOS devices as well.
According to the report, the Voice notes feature for WhatsApp Status is now being tested with some beta users on iOS. The report further suggests that users will be able to post voice notes of up to 30 seconds in their status. Users will see a microphone icon on the status posting screen when they don’t enter any text within the section.
The report also suggests that all the voice notes will be end-to-end encrypted and the voice notes will be visible to people selected within the users’ privacy settings.
It is important to note that the feature is currently in beta testing and available only to select beta testers on both Android and iOS platforms. It is not clear when WhatsApp will make this feature available in the stable version of the app. However, it is expected to arrive down the line with future updates.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp rolled out polls feature to the stable version of the app on both Android and iOS. The feature allows users to create polls in groups and personal chats. To create a poll, simply open a chat window – group or personal – and tap on the attachment icon and choose Polls. Here, enter your poll question and option and post it in the chat.
