WhatsApp recently started testing a self-messaging feature. Now it appears that the company is rolling out the feature to some Android and iOS users. The company has earlier rolled out the feature for beta users on Android and now it is available to the public.
The Meta-owned app has started rolling out the ‘send message to yourself’ feature to some users. We were also able to use the feature on both Android and iOS smartphones. The feature comes really handy whenever we have to make some important notes for ourselves.
In order to use the feature, you first have to save your phone number. Now open WhatsApp and start an individual chat with your phone number. When you message yourself then the chat will appear in the regular chat window. Also, you will notice a ‘Message Yourself’ tag and a ‘You’ suffix next to your name.
Apart from this, WhatsApp is also said to be working on some new features. The popular messaging app is working on auto-mute large group chats. WhatsApp will soon enable users to mute large group chats. The feature will reduce the number of notifications. The company is presently testing the feature with beta Android users.
Along with this, Apple is also working on a new interface for the disappearing messages section. The updated interface will offer two options to users — Select message timer and Apply timer to chats. The redesigned layout is currently available for select beta testers only.
