WhatsApp reportedly fixes this feature for desktop users – Times of India

0

WhatsApp rolls out updates with new features and bug fixes regularly for its app on various platforms. Although the app works in quite a similar manner for web and desktop users, there are a few features that are only available to WhatsApp desktop users. One such feature is the ability to generate rich link previews. For those who do not know, the feature allows you to generate previews of the link shared on the platform in real time. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp desktop stopped generating rich link previews due to some technical glitch.
The report further reveals that the Facebook owned platform has addressed the issue by introducing a fix last week. It is worth noting that you still can not generate link previews on WhatsApp Web, since it is one of the unsupported features after the migration to multi-device, such as the ability to create broadcast lists or view live location on linked devices.
WhatsApp is also reportedly working on a new feature that will make it easier for you to message unsaved contacts. Currently when you tap on a phone number in the chat bubble, WhatsApp takes you directly to your default dialer app. With the coming updates, the platform may show you more options after tapping on a phone number. According to a previous report, WhatsApp has started to roll out a new beta update for Android users. The update brings the version of the app up to 2.22.8.11. With the update, the Facebook owned platform lets you use some shortcuts when selecting phone numbers in chat bubbles.
