The Facebook-owned platform WhatsApp is adding a dedicated payments button in the chat bar. The new shortcut will enable users to quickly send payments right from the chat bar. As per a WaBetaInfo report, the shortcut is under development.
It is currently available for WhatsApp Android beta testers. The shortcut is available as part of WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.21.17.
Currently, a user has to open the Chat action sheet in order to send payments. To access Payment, a user can click on the attachment icon in the chat where it is available along with other options like Document, Location, Contact, etc. With the new shortcut, the Payment button will be available in the chat bar itself, thus allowing one to quickly send payments.

WhatsApp Payments has been developed in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). It offers a real-time payment system with over 227 banks and is live for all users across the country.
WhatsApp recently added a new feature to WhatsApp Payments that allows users to add payment background when sending money. Users will be able to choose from a range of artful expressions created by WhatsApp to complement payments on occasions like birthdays, holidays, or for gifts and travel.
