WhatsApp may soon get a new switch UI for Android users – Times of India
WhatsApp keeps working on the project to improve the app by tweaking the user interface, following the principles of Material 3 Design. They started with the bottom navigation bar, available to some beta testers. Now WABetaInfo has revealed that the popular messaging app is working on redesigning the app switches.
WABetaInfo shared a new screenshot which clearly shows the redesign of the switch UI in WhatsApp which will bring a fresh and modern aesthetic to the app. The latest switch style seamlessly integrates into the overall interface, showcasing an enhanced design that harmonises with the visual language of Material Design 3. The intuitive switch toggle provides users with a straightforward way to switch between options effortlessly, requiring just a simple tap. Its user-friendly design ensures a smooth and intuitive experience for all users.
“The redesign of the switches, in line with Material Design 3 guidelines, reflects their commitment to providing an improved visual experience and enhanced functionality,” mentioned the report.
WhatsApp testing new feature for business
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has started testing a new feature called Status Archive for WhatsApp Business app. Just like other testing features, the Status Archive feature is also being rolled out in beta and is currently available with a select group of WhatsApp Business for Android beta testers. Reports suggest that Meta could expand the feature to more beta users in the coming weeks.
With this new feature, users will be notified by a banner available with the Status tab. Enabling this feature ensures that status updates will be automatically archived on the device after 24 hours of posting. Users will have the flexibility to customize their archive preferences and conveniently view all the archived statuses directly within the Status tab. This streamlined approach provides users with easy access to their past updates while maintaining control over their archive management.
