WhatsApp for iPhone could soon let you send short video messages
Recently, WhatsApp had announced some interesting new features for groups which allow Admins more control. Check it out here.
WhatsApp short video message feature
The WhatsApp short video message is similar to Telegram’s video notes and Instagram DMs’ video. This new feature would allow users to record a short 60-second video and send it to their contacts much like a voice note. WhatsApp will enable end-to-end encryption and recipients of such messages are unlikely to be able to download or forward the video. Perhaps it is possible that WhatsApp could allow screenshots to be taken by the recipient.
The report from WABetaInfo suggests that this new upcoming feature was discovered thanks to the WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.6.0.73 update that has been made available now. The feature can be used by pushing the camera button. A preview of the new feature shows how it could look when it is implemented in stable versions. This feature could come in handy when sharing instantaneous events with a friend or family and could help users convey their emotions easily to their loved ones.
Currently, the feature is under development and there is no indication of a launch timeline. However, it is believed that the feature will come to iPhone users and there is no information on whether it will make it to other platforms.
