Meta-owned popular instant messaging service WhatsApp is reportedly developing a redesign for another new feature for its users. The company has rolled out the latest version (2.23.12.15) through the Google Play Beta Program. With this new update, WhatsApp is working on redesigned floating action buttons. This button is expected to be made available for beta testers with an upcoming update of the app.

The report has shared screenshots to explain how WhatsApp is planning to redesign the floating action buttons. As per the report, the new buttons will allow users to quickly start a new chat. The redesigned button also follows the Material Design 3 guidelines which appear squarish with slightly rounded edges.
The redesign won’t be limited to the floating action button but will also be applied to those buttons within the calls and status tabs, the report notes.
