WhatsApp and parent Meta lose two more senior executives in India – Times of India

Facebook parent Meta has seen resignation of two more senior executives in India. WhatsApp‘s India head Abhijit Bose and Meta Platforms Inc’s public policy director in India Rajiv Aggarwal have resigned. The same was announced by a Meta spokesperson. The resignation follows the exit of Meta’s India head Ajit Mohan earlier this month. Mohan quit Facebook after four years in the job to join rival Snap Inc.
The news also comes just days after Meta announced worldwide layoffs. Last week Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg said that the company is letting go of 13% of its workforce or about 11000 jobs. However, a Meta spokesperson said that both the exits were unrelated to the current layoffs.
Shivnath Thukral, director of WhatsApp Public Policy, India, has been appointed as director, public policy, Meta India (across Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp in India). The company, however, is looking for a replacement for Bose, as per the spokesperson.

His entrepreneurial drive helped our team deliver new services that have benefited millions of people and businesses,” Will Cathcart, Head of WhatsApp, said in a statement. “There is so much more WhatsApp can do for India and we’re excited to continue helping advance India’s digital transformation,” Cathcart added.

In a LinkedIn post, Bose said that it “has been a tough week for all of our team at WhatsApp as we had to say Goodbyes to many amazing teammates last week”. “It’s been 4 years since I joined as WhatsApp’s first Country Head in India, after a small break, I plan to rejoin the entrepreneurial world; you’ll see announcements on that shortly,” Bose wrote.
