According to a report published on WaBetaInfo, the global messaging app has submitted an update to the TestFlight beta Program. The update brings the version up to  23.1.0.73 within Whatsapp Settings. The TestFlight build on the other hand as 23.1.0 (437045932). So, what will this new update bring? Keep reading to find out. 

What will the new WhatsApp update bring?

The WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.24.0.76 update is a version that has been built while using the iOS 16 SDK. In other words, the application has been built using a different SDK, which means it can end up supporting new features that would be offered by the operating system. This will also be the case with the new update as it has been made using the iOS 16 SDK. 

The WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.1.0.73 update will bring the ability to detect text within images that have been shared in a conversation. 

How will the new WhatsApp feature work?

According to a screenshot shared by WaBetaInfo, the app will highlight the text shared in an image, showing that the text can be detected. To check whether you’re using a version that has this feature, you just have to open an image and see what happens. 

This feature is an iOS 16 feature, and it is not something that WhatsApp itself is offering to people as a part of its own services. So, Android users should not expect the feature to roll out to them at any point.
