What Twitter CEO has to say on the app being rebranded as ‘X’ – Times of India

Twitter as we knew it has seen multiple changes in the last 9 months or so. Ever since Elon Musk walked in with a sink in Twitter’s headquarters in San Francisco, it has been a rather eventful ride. Musk brought in sweeping changes but none bigger than actually rebranding it as X. Linda Yaccarino, who is the CEO of Twitter, has had her say on Twitter being rebranded as X.

In a series of tweets, Yaccarino said that Twitter made a big impression and now has another chance to do so. “It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate.”
She also indicated what X will be all about. “X will go further, transforming the global town square. X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centred in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.”

The new Twitter CEO also hinted that AI will also play a key role in X. “Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine. For years, fans and critics alike have pushed Twitter to dream bigger, to innovate faster, and to fulfill our great potential. X will do that and more.”

In her tweets, Yaccarino also hinted that the pivot towards X has been taking place for the last eight months. “We’ve already started to see X take shape over the past 8 months through our rapid feature launches, but we’re just getting started. There’s absolutely no limit to this transformation. X will be the platform that can deliver, well….everything.”
Yaccarino also said that along with Musk she is “looking forward to working with our teams and every single one of our partners to bring X to the world.”
