Weekender Hotels Officially Marks Brand Launch and Rapid Expansion
“Having the chance to breathe new life and vision into these older, often-storied hotels that hold decades of memories and legacy is such a privilege.”

Weekender Hotels today marked the official launch of its brand with a celebration at its flagship property, Great Pines resort, on the shores of Fourth Lake in Old Forge, New York. The Weekender team has been hard at work for the last year growing the portfolio and laying the foundations of the Weekender experience.
Weekender Hotels founder, Keir Weimer said, “I am thrilled to finally launch the Weekender brand. At the core of this is my love for the Great Outdoors, for lifelong adventure, for travel and for exploring the world and ourselves more deeply. It is my desire and goal to share this passion with as many people as possible. At Weekender we want to foster the sense of adventure we get when we head out on a new hike, ski down a new slope, or bike through a new forest. But we also want to provide the setting and that sense of place we feel by slowing down with a good book on the dock and watching the sunrise over the lake. I think people have opened their eyes to the excitement of getting outside in the last couple of years, and Weekender is here to help facilitate this longing.”
While the hotel brand is in its infancy, the early roots of the company stem back to 2015, when Weimer acquired his first hospitality property, Great Pines. All hotels in the Weekender portfolio boast modern luxury amenities, including Kassatex linens, state of the art technology and fully “smart hotel” integrated experiences, luxury spa products such as Beekman 1802 toiletries, and proximity to endless outdoor activities and recreational opportunities. The feeling is modern, connected, rustic and chic all at once. More unique touches that blend the luxe comforts of a modern hotel stay with the experience of time spent surrounded by nature.
The Weekender Hotel brand portfolio currently includes Great Pines resort in Old Forge, New York, the original property acquired by Weimer in 2015; Placid Bay Hotel in Lake Placid, New York; Alpine Lodge in North Creek, New York; Jack Daniels Inn in Peterborough, New Hampshire; and a 500-acre land development project to really lean-in to the outdoor enthusiast’s desires and yearnings. Weekender will continue its thoughtful expansion with three additional properties throughout New England and Upstate New York in the coming months.
Weimer added, “Having the chance to breathe new life and vision into these older, often-storied hotels that hold decades of memories and legacy is such a privilege. With Weekender, we want these hotels to be a place for people to form new memories with loved ones for generations to come. We’re excited by the opportunity to disrupt and help transform the next generation of travel, and to provide a setting, a community and a place for people to go on their own adventure of a lifetime.”
