Watch: ‘We bowled as hunting pairs’ Ravindra Jadeja on bowling with Kuldeep Yadav | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Left-arm spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja masterminded the rout of an abject West Indies team as India romped to a five-wicket victory with more than 27 overs to spare in the opening ODI at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Thursday.

The Windies were bundled out for just 114 off 23 overs after being put in as they appeared completely at sea in trying to cope especially with variations offered by Kuldeep’s wrist-spin.
Brought on as the sixth bowler, Kuldeep triggered the capitulation which saw the last seven wickets cascading for 26 runs, finishing with outstanding figures of 4/6 off three overs.

Jadeja claimed 3/37 to perfectly complement Kuldeep after seamers Hardik Pandya, debutant Mukesh Kumar and Shardul Thakur had done the early damage with a wicket apiece.

After the match, the BCCI shared a clip of a video where both the left-arm spinners were talking to each other, enjoying each other’s company.
The clip starts with Jadeja introducing Kuldeep saying, “With me is Kuldeep Yadav who in this hot weather has brought such a cool hairstyle from India,” with Kuldeep responding with a laughter saying that he is following Jaddu bhai (Jadeja) in everything as Jadeja also breaks into a laugh.
Jadeja continues saying that they both worked as hunting pairs and “the catch that Virat (Kohli) took was simply outstanding and as I take good catches off others bowling it feels great when someone takes a great catch off my bowling too, it was a low and sharp catch.”
Kuldeep responds by saying, “Touchwood hope you keep performing like this and we keep taking wickets together,” as the clip ends with both giving a big thumbs-up to the camera.

The second ODI of the series is on Saturday at the same venue.
