WATCH – Tour Game, India vs Leicestershire: Surprised at his dismissal, Virat Kohli misses out on a big score | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Just when it seemed that Virat Kohli was finding his lost touch ahead of the crucial fifth and decisive Test to conclude the unfinished tour of England from last year, the former India skipper failed to get going in the warm-up game against Leicestershire and was dismissed for 33 by Roman Walker. However, Kohli took a while before walking back, as he inquired about the decision after the umpire raised his finger.
It was the first day of the practice game for the visitors and Kohli looked good while adding 50-plus runs for the sixth wicket with KS Bharat. But in the 41st over of the day, he missed the line while trying to drive a full-length delivery from Walker and the ball kissed Kohli’s pads before going into the wicketkeeper’s gloves.
The umpire upheld the bowler’s appeal, after which Kohli seemingly asked the umpire whether he was given out LBW or caught behind.

Kohli hit four fours and one six during his 69-ball stay.
India, opting to bat first, were 246 for 8 at stumps on day one of the tour game. Bharat was unbeaten on 70.
The Rohit Sharma-led Team India will play the fifth Test against hosts England in Edgbaston from July 1. India lead the five-match series 2-1 currently. Four of the five Tests were completed last year – the first Test in Nottingham was a draw, India won the second Test at Lords by 151 runs, England bounced back to win the third Test in Leeds by a huge margin of an innings and 76 runs, but India then took the lead by winning the fourth Test at the Oval by 157 runs.
The fifth Test was postponed last year because of a Covid-19 outbreak in the Indian camp. It was later rescheduled to be played in July this year.
