Watch: Apple uses YouTube to take digs at Google, Android – Times of India

Switchers. Seems such an innocuous little word, no? Ask Apple and it suddenly becomes a billion-dollar ‘thing’. Why? Because it is a term Apple uses for those who move from Android to iPhone. And for those ‘switchers’ Apple has posted a video. The irony couldn’t be more delicious as the video is on YouTube — a platform owned by Google, Android’s parent company.
The video — posted by Apple’s official account — is a guide for Android users who might have questions about how and what they should keep in mind before moving to an iPhone. “In this video, we answer the most-searched questions Android users ask before switching to iPhone. These questions cover a range of topics from moving to iOS, trade-in, reliability, software updates, privacy, and support,” Apple says in the video.

The seven ‘important’ points to keep in mind when switching to iPhone
Apple is pre-empting the basic — and most-searched — questions that Android users might have if and when they do decide to move to an iPhone. The video is shot in an Apple Store where an employee answers the questions Android users might have. The questions asked are:
If I switch to the iPhone, will it be easy to transfer my contacts, photos, and messages?
Yes, Apple says, that with the Move to iOS app all the contacts, photos and messages get instantly transferred to an iPhone from an Android phone.
Can I trade in my Android smartphone?
Again, yes. Apple does offer trade-in for almost every major Android brands’ smartphones.
Will it hold up over time?
Here, Apple touts the durability and toughness of the iPhone. Not to forget the battery life and “amazing” performance which means it will run “smoothly for years”.
Will it be reliable?
Rather cleverly done and Apple takes a dig at how updates get delayed on Android phones.
Will it get the latest updates?
Citing the example of the iPhone 6S, which came out almost 6 years ago, Apple says it still runs iOS 15.
How will my personal info be protected?
Privacy matters and that’s always been Apple’s message. It finds a way in the video as well with features like Sign-in with Apple and App Tracking Transparency getting a mention
Will I get support from Apple?
It’s about getting support from Apple online and offline for any issue with the iPhone.
