In its quarterly earnings report, Blizzard revealed that it is “planning substantial new content for the Warcraft franchise in 2022, including new experiences in World of Warcraft and Hearthstone, and getting all-new mobile Warcraft content into players’ hands for the first time.”
Currently, it’s unclear what you can expect from the Warcraft mobile game in terms of gameplay, lore, genre, and more. Blizzard had previously revealed that there are multiple free-to-play Warcraft mobile games in development. The company’s CEO Bobby Kotick had then confirmed that these games are in “advanced development.” Rumours also hint at a Pokemon Go-style AR game design for Warcraft mobile. However, Blizzard hasn’t shared any details about the project yet.
Warcraft mobile may not be the only Blizzard mobile game coming out this year. Diablo: Immortal is also expected to launch in the first half of 2022. Diablo: Immortal is already available for pre-registration on Android devices. Blizzard is expected to announce the full launch of Diablo: Immortal alongside launch details for iOS users.
