Vishal Gandhi gets candid as he is back on TV after five years with Meet: Badlegi Duniya Ki Reet

How will you sum up your journey as an actor?

The journey is still not over. It’s full of ups and downs. So far so good but I have a long way to go.

Who is your greatest pillar of strength?

My family. My parents and my wife have been constantly supporting me and there was my pet who gave me unconditional love. Unfortunately, I lost my pet last year and I still miss him.

Who do you look up to as an actor?

Tom Hanks. The way he gets into the skin of his character is exemplary. Whether it is Cast Away, Terminal or Forest Gump, he has been one phenomenal actor whom I love to watch again and again.

How has the pandemic changed you as a person?

I have realised that nothing is permanent in this world. It has made me more humble in life.

What has been your most challenging role so far?

Tej Ahlawat in Meet is one of the most challenging roles I have ever played. Each and every second I am in the frame of Tej I get charged up and excited to be the character.

How do you unwind yourself?

It is mostly the gym. I make a lot of effort to make myself healthy. If we work till late, I listen to music which soothes my soul.

Apart from acting, what’s your passion?

I am a state-level volleyball player and whenever I get some time, I play with my society residents. Also, recently I have developed an interest in photography.

How do you see life in next 5 years?

I would like to see myself as a respectful and successful actor.

What is your focus now?

My focus has always been on a prominent role and giving hundred per cent to the craft.

What is your life’s philosophy?

Mind your own business. I have no regrets.
