Viral Video: Twitter User’s Phone-Made Food Compilation Is Sad Yet Hilarious

The power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) has been demonstrated several times in the recent past. We have seen how AI can be trained to make its own recipes and cook meals for us too. The applications of AI are constantly expanding and changing. One of the best examples of seeing AI at work is when our phone’s photo gallery automatically creates videos of our best moments and photos from the years gone by. The algorithms pick similar images and combine them into a video with a common theme or focus area. Recently, a Twitter user shared a video of the food he had eaten over the past years, and it left the internet in splits. Take a look:

The video was shared by Will and it has gone crazy viral on the micro-blogging platform. It has raked in over 4.1 million views, 272k likes and 28k retweets. “It finally happened. My photos app generated the saddest video possible,” wrote the user in his tweet.

In the video generated by the man’s phone, we could see the heading ‘Tasty Bites Over The Years’ written along with the first slide. A series of images were then added along with some sad violin music in the 38-second clip. The selection of food shown in the clip ranged from bizarre to disgusting, and the user himself could not understand when he had clicked those images. There was a frozen pizza, a stack of bread with peanut butter, and a burger with some gummy worms among other things. The combination of these funny food items along with the violin indeed gave a sad yet hilarious effect to the video.

Twitter users couldn’t help but share their reactions to the AI-generated food video. Many questioned why the user was eating such food in the first place. Others shared similar videos that their phones had also created.

Take a look at the reactions to the video:
