The post about the vegan workplace was shared by user u/Reezeyyy in the sub-Reddit r/mildlyinfuriating. It has received over 50k upvotes and 10k comments since the time it was shared. “Applied for a job, received this in an email. Can they force this upon me or not hire me based on this,” the user asked in the caption of the post. In the email, the prospective employer had mailed the user seeking responses to some questions. “Thanks for your application. To help us shortlist, please reply to the following questions,” they wrote in their mail.
There were about four to five questions, among which one was about the workplace being ‘strictly vegan’. “Our workplaces are strictly vegan. You do not have to be vegan away from work, but you do need to bring a vegan lunch and have plant milk to eat on-site or eat lunch off-site. Can you confirm you are fine with this,” the company asked the user.

A number of Reddit users reacted to this post about the workplace being strictly vegan. Some felt that this condition was quite problematic. “That is so weird. Some startups really do the best they can to not hire,” said one user. Others felt that the employer was not wrong in asking this question beforehand. “Your dietary choice is not a protected class. If they want to hire on that basis, they are free to do so,” commented a user. “I will be a worktime vegan if the pay is good enough,” said another user.
