Vidya Balan’s saree gets caught on red carpet, fans applaud her for handling it ‘like a pro’. Watch

Actor Vidya Balan attended the cocktail party of Guneet Monga and Sunny Kapoor, who tied the knot on Monday. At the event, Vidya arrived with her husband-producer, Siddharth Roy Kapur. A video of her from the red carpet has surfaced online where she is seen handling her saree like a pro after it got caught. In the video, Vidya is seen greeting a man while walking ahead of Siddharth. They were heading towards the red carpet to pose paparazzi. In the moment, the actor’s pallu got stuck to something but she managed to fix it in no time and turned back for cameras.

At the event, Vidya wore a black-and-red floral saree with matching blouse. Her husband Siddharth opted for an all-black suit.

Vidya’s saree moment has reminded fans of her hit film, Dirty Picture. In the film, Vidya played the role of Silk Smitha, who was known for her bold looks. Reacting to the video, a fan wrote, “Dirty picture movie.” “Thank God Ganaa nahi play hua ….. Giraa ke aapna paalu (Thank God they didn’t play the Dirty Picture song),” added another one. Someone also called her ‘bindaas actress’ for handling the situation well.

Besides Vidya, the party was also attended by several celebrities. Filmmaker Karan Johar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Ekta Kapoor and actors Sonali Bendre and Neha Dhupia too were present at the party in Mumbai.

Vidya Balan married Siddharth in 2012 in a private ceremony in Mumbai. Karan Johar earlier revealed how he played cupid for the couple. During a conversation with Twinkle Khanna, Karan reacted to being called as Sima Taparia of Bollywood.

Twinkle told Karan Johar, “You are the Sima aunty of the movie business. You keep doing this matchmaking and your father did the same thing. When I was speaking to Waheeda Rahman, she mentioned that your father fixed up her marriage, it’s some genetic pre-disposition to get people together.”

Agreeing to her, Karan recalled how he introduced Siddharth to Vidya Balan. “I take on the responsibility, like I have to do it. It just makes me very happy to do it. It’s like one of the agendas in my life. Vidya (Balan) called me the other day. It was her 12th anniversary, and I had introduced her to Siddharth Roy Kapoor. I was so touched by this call, more than any feedback for a film,” he shared. Vidya was last seen in Jalsa, co-starring Shefali Shah.
