Victus by HP brand arrives alongside new Omen 16 and Omen 17 – Smartprix

HP has introduced a new gaming range called Victus. This is expected to take on Dell’s G-series. Anyways, the first model to come out is HP Victus 16. HP says this is “built from OMEN DNA, created for mainstream players; OMEN offers breakthrough hardware and software experiences with a more sustainable PC design made with ocean bound plastics and recycled materials”.

Besides, HP has refreshed its Omen 17, brought out a 16.1-inch Omen, and a Nvidia G-Sync-compatible monitor.

HP Victus 16

The laptop flaunts a 16-inch display with up to QHD resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, and Eyesafe low blue light filter. HP claims the screen is outfitted on a 15-inch frame and should hence endow better handability.

Inside, the Victus 16 carries up to Intel Core i7-11800H or AMD Ryzen 7 5800H CPUs. This is married to Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 GPU and up to 32GB DDR4 3200 MHz RAM. The storage choices include up to a single 1TB Gen4 PCIe SSD or Dual RAID 0 SSD. You also get Intel Optane memory as an option.

For thermal efficiency, the machine has got rear vents with five-way airflow and a four-heat pipe design. Rest, HP has also put in features like Undervolting, Performance Mode, Network Booster, System Vitals (whilst gaming), and Omen Oasis Beta.

HP Omen 16 and Omen 17

The key difference between the two laptops is in the processor department. The Omen 16 comes in an Intel Core i7-11800H or AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with graphics options of up to an 8GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 or an AMD Radeon (RDNA 2).

Meanwhile, the Omen 17 can be configured with an Intel Core i9-11900H CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 GPU.

The common features include QHD IPS display with 16:9 aspect ratio, 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 100% sRGB support, TUV Rheinland rating for eye protection, per-key RGB backlighting, up to 32GB RAM, up to two 1TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSDs (RAID 0), optional Intel Optane, Wi-Fi 6E and a Thunderbolt 4 port (with Intel SKUs). Finally, the battery size ranges from 52.5Whr to 83Whr and promising up to 9 hours of runtime.

HP Omen 25i gaming monitor

The Omen 25i has got an FHD IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, VESA DisplayHDR 400, 100% DCI-P3, 400 nits brightness, and 8-bit color. The monitor also comes with support for stuff like AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, Nvidia G-Sync, HP Eye Ease, and EyeSafe blue light protection.
