Vi Rs 17, Rs 57 and Rs 1,999 recharge plans launched: validity, benefits

Vi Rs 17 and Rs 57 prepaid plans

Rs 17 plan

• The new Rs 17 prepaid plan offers a validity of 24 hours and comes with unlimited night data between 12 AM and 6 AM.
• The plan, however, doesn’t offer any outgoing SMS or any service validity. This means if consumers want to call or send an SMS, they need to recharge with another plan.

Rs 57

• The Rs 57 prepaid plan offers a validity of seven days.
• The plan also brings unlimited night data benefits but doesn’t have service validity and outgoing SMS support.

Vi Rs 1999 prepaid plan

• The new Rs 1,999 prepaid plan from Vi has a validity of a whopping 250 days.
• The pack offers unlimited calls without any capping, 100 SMS each day, and 1.5GB of daily data.
• Post the consumption of high-speed data, the data speed will be reduced to 64Kbps.
• The outgoing SMS is also chargeable at Rs 1 for local and Rs 1.50 for STD post the 100 daily SMS.

Separately, Vodafone Idea has scrapped the recently launched Rs 549 recharge plan which offered a 150-day validity, 1GB of data and 2.5 paise per second for calls. The reason behind this move is unclear at the moment but we speculate this might decrease its income in the long run.
